Project Description

QuestSync is a unified academic platform that streamlines student life and collaboration, transforming how students manage assignments and educational tasks from school to university.


Process

This category details the step-by-step approach taken during the project, including background research, existing design, competitor analysis, user journey maps, data analysis, prototyping, user testing, and refinding and iterating.

Research & Planning – Existing Design Precedence

Conducted background research on the role of technology in education and analyzed user needs across high school, university, and professional learners. Studied leading collaboration platforms such as Miro, Figma, Trello, Jira, Asana, Notion, and others to identify best practices in real-time teamwork, interface usability, and student engagement. Mapped out benefits and drawbacks of current tools to highlight gaps in user experience and feature overload. These insights guided the functional scope and experience goals of our platform.




Design & Prototyping

Adopted the Triple Diamond framework to guide ideation and iteration. Defined user personas based on age, educational background, and collaboration behavior. Developed design concepts focused on intuitive AI-assisted workflows, smart content organization, and seamless in-app communication. Created wireframes, mid- and hi-fidelity prototypes, and iterated based on usability feedback. Prioritized accessibility, real-time editing, and a simplified user interface.



Development & Implementation

Proposed AI-driven features such as keyword-based smart assistants, grammar checkers, auto-summarization, and real-time editing aids. Envisioned a fully integrated collaboration space combining productivity tools (notes, to-dos, brainstorming) with communication channels (chat, voice, video). Emphasized mobile compatibility, student-first usability, and a free-for-students pricing strategy. Finalized an MVP concept that consolidates essential academic tools in a cloud-based, student-centric platform.

Enables personalized user experiences by storing preferences, activity history, and collaborative data to support tailored functionality.

Mini Functions

Includes lightweight, supportive tools such as reminders, timers, quick notes, and pop-up confirmations that enhance productivity without overwhelming the user.


Results

This section highlights the key outcomes of the project, including usability improvements, user satisfaction, and the effectiveness of core features.

Enhanced Collaboration

User testing showed improved group efficiency and communication, with students completing collaborative tasks more quickly and with less confusion.

Positive User Feedback

Participants praised the platform’s intuitive design, seamless real-time interaction, and the helpfulness of the AI chatbot in organizing tasks and answering questions.
